How to overcome Fear Print E-mail

Has anyone ever been in Fear of something or someone in there life time.

Does this Fear control you or do you control Fear with GOD's help.

What is Fear? This is an emotion created by GOD.

The most probable explanation for the change in the meaning of the word "fear" is the existence in Old English of the related verb frighten, which meant “to terrify, take by surprise”.

But remember there are to types of Fear in the Bible. Just because you see the word  fear it does not necessarily mean to be afraid of something.

Fear of GOD (This is a reverential awe of God; a reverence for His power and glory. However, it is also a proper respect for His wrath and anger. In other words, the fear of the Lord is a total acknowledgement of all that God is, which comes through knowing Him and His attributes.

Spirit of Fear (Remember this is not of GOD), This is one of the things Satan uses to steal, kill and destroy you.

He wants complete control of our Mind to remove any love and peace we have with GOD (Relationship).

Then he has control of our Body and then finally our Spirit.

When he has all three we feel helpless and enter a state of depression then fall away from GOD.

We can never let it get this far (GOD does not want us to fail and is willing to give us what we need if we can confess, Repent and ask him for his help to get through this trial in our life)

Sometimes he just wants to see if we will lean on him through this difficult time in our life.

Remember we were created to Worship him in everything we do.

Remember this:

1 John 4:18 (There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.) GOD is Perfect Love.

1 John 4:19 (We love him because he first loved us.)

Isaiah 41:10 (Do not fear for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your GOD.  I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.)

Fear is a lack of Hope and Trust that GOD is in control of the situation.

Remember this:

The opposite of Fear is Hope.

61 times in the Bible does it talk about "Do not be afraid"

Remember that GOD has control over everything including darkness (Angels and Demons).

But we must allow GOD to work in our life to remove this Spirit of Fear.

Listen to what Jesus said to his disciples:

Luke 10:19 (Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you).

This is a Spiritual battle (Not a Physical battle) that is going on in us.

We need to make sure we have the full "Armor of GOD" to fight this battle.

What is the Armor of GOD?

1- Belt of Truth (Thank you, my Lord, for showing me the truth  about yourself. Thank you for reminding me that You are the only God, the Creator of heaven and earth, the King of the universe, my Father who loves me, and my Shepherd who leads me. You are my wisdom, my counselor, my hope, and my strength. You are everything I need each day).

2- The Breastplate of Righteousness (Thank you for showing me the truth about myself--that on my own I could never be good enough to live in your presence. Thank you for taking my sins to the cross and offering me your righteous life. Lord, show me any sin that I need to confess right now, so that nothing will hinder me from being filled to overflowing with your Spirit. [Take time for confession] Thank you for forgiving me and for filling me with your righteous life).

3- The Sandals of Peace (Thank you for the peace you give me when I trust and follow you. Show me how to help others find that peace).

4- The Shield of Faith (Thank you for helping me have faith  in you. I choose to count on everything you have shown me about yourself--and everything you have promised me in your Word).

5- The Helmet of Salvation (Thank you for promising me salvation  both for today's battles and for all eternity).

6- The Sword of the Spirit "The Word of GOD" (Thank you for the scriptures you have given me to memorize. Please show me which one(s) you want me to use to cut through deceptions and gain your victory in any battle I may face today).

Remember we are to never remove this Armor from us (Day or Night). 24X7

Remember GOD is the only one that can give us the Courage to overcome Fear!

In Closing remember we need to come in agreement with GOD about this in our life.

"Father, in the name of Jesus, I come into agreement with Your Word concerning a spirit of fear. I know that you tell us in your Word, "Fear not". I agree with you and submit to what you command. I have repented of not obeying and submitting to Your Word in the past and you have forgiven me. I now have Your power to stand against a spirit of fear! Because of the authority that has been given to me by the most high GOD, I tell a spirit of fear to leave! Spirit of fear, you have no more authority over me! I submit to God's truth, 'fear not' and I say I will not give a foothold to fear any longer. I am a child of GOD and freed by the blood of the lamb! for it is written, 'For you [I] did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you [I] received the Spirit of adoption by whom we [I] cry out "Abba Father". 'For GOD has not given us [Me] a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a second mind'. I resist you, spirit of fear, and you must flee! I believe God's Word of Truth and by his Word, I stand against fear!"

I hope this works in your life as it has in mine.

Remember this is just one of the tools Satan uses to get in control of our mind.
